This item is out of stock in some areas.

The clutch is designed for small and medium-sized camera bodies. I tried the Micro Clutch on my OM System OM-1 Camera and then on my older Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II with the less pronounced grip. Very easy with the included tool hidden within the base plate.

Universal Bar Mount

Just perform one rotation of the fastener and the bracket will be loose enough to slide across and off the camera body. The Peak Design Micro Clutch is perfectly designed for my Sony a7III mirrorless cameras. Designed for mirrorless photographers, it is a low-profile hand strap with a full-length baseplate for extra stability and strength. I think a really cool addition to this, if there is a next version, is if there was an option to attach a plate to the side of the base plate that turns it into an L Bracket with a hand strap. If you carry your smaller camera in your hand and want the extra stability and security offered by having one fitted, then the Peak Design Micro Clutch is a great purchase.

Everyday Case for Samsung

Clip for rigidly carrying any camera on any belt, strap, or bag. Ultralight quick-connecting wrist strap for on-demand security. Mirrorless camera strap with unmatched versatility, stability, and aesthetics. Pro camera strap with unmatched versatility, stability, and aesthetics. Protective, easy-access photo/video gear organizers for travel. The Peak Design Micro Clutch is available now with a 23 percent presale discount on Kickstarter, allowing photographers to nab the new strap for $50.

This is made worse by the fact that the tool is fiddly to use. The Micro Clutch is a short, padded strap that runs from the right-hand side strap anchor on the camera to an L plate that is attached to the camera’s base. It’s designed for carrying the camera securely in your hand and is especially useful when you don’t want to use a neck or shoulder strap. Photographers can choose between two different models of Micro Clutch depending on the make and model of their mirrorless camera. An “L” style base plate is available for bodies with a built-in front grip, while an “I” base plate is available for cameras without a grip.

Everyday Bags

I'm the same as you when it comes to, in my case the X-T5, I found my hand and fingers slightly restricted when using it due to their size and an extra notch and slightly longer would be perfect. My colleague tried it however, and it worked perfect for him on the same camera. With the older, slightly smaller camera, the clutch worked perfectly. With my middle two fingers inserted between the strap and the body, it was easy reaching the shutter button. Furthermore, my thumb and forefinger could operate the dials with no difficulty. Low-profile and unobtrusive compared to other camera hand straps on the market.

Peak Design’s New Micro Clutch is a Minimalist Camera Hand Strap

A built-in Anchor attachment point allows use with any PD camera strap. The first of its kind, Micro Clutch is a hand strap specifically designed for small mirrorless camera bodies. A major potential issue with the Micro Clutch is that its requisite base plate blocks the battery compartment on many cameras. However, Peak Design has, unsurprisingly, considered this. The Micro Clutch plate has a built-in hidden magnetic tool that can loosen the base plate so that it can swivel on its axis, exposing a camera’s bottom battery slot.

Cinch down on your hand for total security, or pull to loosen when accessing camera controls. Sling bag perfectly sized for light everyday and photo carry. If you’re in the market for a hand strap, Peak Design now have two great options for you to decide on. I cannot recommend the Micro Clutch enough for Mirrorless camera users. The slim nature of the build along with the sturdy base plate compliments the smaller size of my Sony a7 III, while the original Clutch now fits well with my Canon 5D Mk III.

The Arca Swiss system was originally designed for DSLRs and was not built with the thinner bodies of mirrorless cameras in mind. Choose the L-plate model for mirrorless cameras with a pronounced hand grip, and the I-plate model for cameras with little or no hand grip. With the base plate mounted, the Hypalon strap can be fixed through the camera’s strap lug. The idea is that your index finger remains free to press the shutter button while your next two fingers slide through the strap to keep the camera safe.

Other objects cannot be used in place of that either, so if you’re out in the field and you need to remove it to attach a tripod plate, you’re stuck. The base plate on the original clutch requires a 4mm hex key to tighten or remove, which is problematic as you need to always ensure you have one on hand. I believe it’s the same as what Peak Design uses to attach shoulder straps to their bags. I attached one with a keyring to my tripod and left one within each camera bag, all just in case.
